Chapter Ten

Eric watched the sky begin to lighten as he brought the blankets up over the top of the two of them before pulling Brad against his chest. Brad’s disheveled curly blond hair obscured most of his face, but by the sounds of his continued snores, he was still asleep.

They’d stayed awake most of the night, unable to keep their hands off one another, dozing between bouts of incredible fucking. Eric had had more sex in one evening then he’d had in the last six months. Though, to be honest, somewhere around the third time, the fucking turned tender, and somehow emotions came into play.

Eric felt he’d given a part of himself to Brad somewhere, and didn’t want it back. What they’d shared would leave a lasting effect on him, and Eric hoped his lover as well.

He ran the tips of his fingers through those soft curls, the thick strands catching on his calloused hands. He wondered how Brad had gotten so deep under his skin after only knowing each other a few months. Now he couldn’t imagine a life without the man in it. He’d fallen fast and hard but had no desire to slow down.

This, right here, was what he’d been searching for.

A sense of calm filled him with peace as he closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep.

When he woke again, he found Brad laying on top of him, his chin resting on his hands looking down at Eric.

“Morning.”

“Morning,” Eric replied before leaning forward for a kiss. Brad didn’t hesitate to close the distance between them. A small moan escaped his lover’s lips, and he dove in for more, deepening the kiss.

When the kiss slowed, Eric pulled away and looked deeply into those gorgeous hazel eyes. “Now, this is the way to wake up.”

“Seriously, I was thinking the same thing,” Brad chuckled. “Not to rush things. And I’m fine with whatever you answer, but I’ve gotta ask, are we a couple? Like exclusive?”

Leave it to Brad to get to the heart of the matter right away. No need to let it percolate under the surface. He tilted his head, waiting for Eric’s answer.

Eric wrapped his arms around Brad’s waist and answered right away. “Yes. If that’s what you want.”

“I wouldn’t’ve asked if I didn’t want it.” Brad grinned.

“Smartass. Do you have any plans for today?” He remembered Brad mentioning he had Sunday off.

“Nope,” Brad answered. “Other than hanging out with Grams. It’s Sunday, and if I’m not working, it’s family day.”

“Perfect. Since it’s family day, I have an idea.” Eric buzzed with excitement. “I have a reasonably sized backyard with a patio, and a new grill to break in. Why don’t we have a barbeque here and bring your Grams out for the day? We could invite a few friends. What do you think?” Eric couldn’t remember the last time he’d had a get-together at his place. It was time to fix that.

“We’re making couples plans already,” Brad joked. “I like the way you think, captain.”

“Why waste time? Who would you like to invite?” he asked.
